The recent thread on Arko creams got me thinking about menthol. I've been poking around, and figured I'd see if we can't compile a list of great menthol products. Some of my favorites: -Stirling Glacials and Iced/On the Rocks -Proraso green -Aqua Velva Blue So, what else deserves a shot? Anything from mild to wild, as long as it's got menthol! (I'm looking at you, @Yehuda D!)
Proraso White has a nice but mild menthol effect. Also Skin Bracer and Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershaves have a nice menthol kick to them. The Stirling Glacials are of course top notch!
What a hard question to answer but I'll give it the old college try! Mild menthol: Nothing - just kidding because there's, Soaps: Proraso White Mickey Lee Paradise Frost Creams: Lord Emofresh Cerrus (now discontinued) Hamol (from Syria) Aftershaves: Razorock One X Razorock Don Donato Italian Barber Amici Medium menthol - let's see, Soaps: Proraso Green OSP Grapefruit Menthol Creams: Egyptian Ingram Arko Ice Mint Gada Cool Mint Top Ten Sensitive Derbylux Lea Classic Aftershaves: Mennen Skin Bracer Aqua Velva Ice Blue Floid Classic Reef Point Fougere Santal Strong menthol - now it's getting interesting, Soaps: TSD Iced Subzero Stirling MITA Stirling Black Ice Stirling Gin & Tonic on the Rocks Stirling Frozen Tundra First Canadian Polar Vortex Soap Smooth Frozen Cranberry Krampert's Frostbite Creams: Palmolive Menthol Gillette Menthol Lea Menthol Aftershaves: Osage Rub Alcolado Glacial Mega strong menthol - now you're talking my language, Soaps: Stirling Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo Stirling Glacial Obsidian Stirling Glacial MITA Stirling Glacial Spearmint Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Creams: N/A Aftershaves: B&M Arctique Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Witch Hazel Stirling Lemon Chill Witch Hazel Fine Snake Bite That's the best I can do!
Trying not to double up anything. I'll add Stirling Iced Pineapple as a favorite, and Cold River Soap Works Limenthol. Barbasol Brisk and Fine Snakebite, Platinum and American Blend. I hear Chiseled Face Cryogen is a beast. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I've had it.(cryogen) It'll literally make your eyes water. I've thought about buying a tub, only because it's been over a year. We all know how pain fades with time.
Keith, the Glacial soaps are now as killer-cold as Cryogen. Can they ever give you "tears of joy" if you love menthol.
Soap: Catie's Bubbles "Sunrise". Has a little shot on the second pass. Cream: Proraso Green and it's cousin C O Bigelow.
I'm on my 4th or 5th bottle. The stuff will definitely wake you up! I do enjoy the 'snake oil' copy on bottle: "Guaranteed tenfold increase in vigor, bravery, and pluck. The weak become strong, the lazy become lively and the meek become leaders of men.'
Stirling Frozen Tundra Krampert's Frostbite Chiseled Face Cryogen (Use with caution. This stuff will make your eyes water and, if you are feeling brave, slap on some Osage Rub AS. Not for the weak of heart.)
Proraso Green (I use the cream in the tube) for a mild to medium strength when you aren't after a major shot of menthol or fragrance. Just a good shave cream. The aftershave has a nice face feel, but the menthol is mild, and it has a classic but fleeting scent. Stirling's Margaritas in the Arctic (MITA) is my favorite right now. Strong menthol and strong lime scent. I will mix up a little extra intentionally so I can rub some on my face after I'm done shaving. That's when it feels really cold. I haven't tried the Glacial MITA which is supposed to have almost three times the menthol as the standard version. The standard version gives a nice satisfying menthol cooling effect, so I'm not sure I need the Glacial, but I would give it a shot in a sample size. The MITA aftershave is also outstanding.
Can't go wrong with the Stirling Glacial line but I'm more into mild menthol and for that I like Prorasso for cream and Skin Bracer or Floid Vigoroso for aftershave. Barbasol Pacific Rush was good but has been discontinued. Shaving Yeti is another high menthol option & is Myrsol Formula K.
