I've had my eye on those olive wood handles out of Jerusalem that sells on eBay myself..they are very, very attractive handles....
I think I am going to do the same. Either by ordering the Olive Wood handle on eBay or buying the blank from Penn State and spinning it on the lathe. Either way it will be getting a Silvertip knot from WD.

Watch your paper for estate sales. I picked up a slim for $1, a 58 SS for $2 and a New Standard for $5. You never know what you'll find. I never have a lot of luck at antique shops.
What is the best way to find something at an estate sale? I have never been to one. Do u get to walk around and see what they have for sale so you know it is there, or do you have to wait all day to see what is up for bid? I would like to find some razors that way. Heck, maybe some other goodies too.
I have an update on my 'whale.' -1979 first quarter Gillette Black Beauty adjustable-white whale -an oscar 11 brush -unicorn would be a full set of the Gillette Psycho's with original key I'm sure there will be more, the more I learn about razors.
you may mean auction, if so you have a time to look, then you have to wait till your item comes up. most are just sales, garage, tag, rummage, yard. just pick it up, say how much.
I check the newspapers and search the newspapers web pages. It can take a lot of time at the actual sale. A friend of mine actually saw the toggle at an auction and sent me a pic. I fractured a few laws getting over there. My only regret was that the paperwork was missing. Good luck!
Go here and input your local area and subscribe to notifications of local estate sales: estatesales.org My long term White Whale is a Toggle.
