When did you notice both types of Safe-T-shavers or Double Edge and Single Edge shavers make a comeback? I noticed in 2013--2014 this Safe-T-Style of shaving I thought was dead forever with Gillette buying out all the patents on the style of blades having seen them before in antiques stores mainly the old Gillette Super Shaver models or Gillette Tech model, this design making a comeback after some brands saw stupid hipsters were using the old other kind of straight shavers and newer models as these never fully died off because they did not require a specific blade, but it was mostly the 3 piece because the faux hipsters only wanted the most inconvenient types of shaving with the dumb faux hipsters thinking this inconvenience hassle was ironic. Also, at about the time in 2017 when I got my first Butterfly Model Micro Touch in a Walgreens in 2017, I noticed when looking online some single blade models came out being the Parker Edge/Parker Solo Edge as the main model online when looking at shavers eventually going with a Micro Touch One at the time because other 100% Chinese models (not just rebrand like Micro Touch One) Wishi and QShave had 0 Reviews and I could find the model in a local Walgreens the time that as of King C Gillette coming out was the main model stocked because the company was once an exclusive to Walgreens/CVS. I was not willing to buy something that might have to come shipped at the time directly from China, turns out Amazon imported the models into the USA to resell because soon in 2017. Soon after I got my first Safe-T-Shaver in 2017 I found online mainly some brands a hard to put into shaver a single edge replaceable blade straight shaver I know now from looking online at used shavers is based on an old Pre WWII all metal model made in Europe by the European division of Shick that was only stopped because of WWII had a modern reintroducing that came out a year or two after the modern Safe-T-Shavers were reintroduced with most having plastic on parts to fail sooner or were fidgety stamped metal parts of no plastic. Often the modern blade style straight shaver is a Chinese made model even if sold rebranded by a brand that is not from China as no other brands want to design or make these odd bladed Straight shavers. The reboots of this design were made for dying off North American and Europe Hipster Fad, in 2015 but these blades never really took off even among true hipsters or similar people as a true Straight Shaver gives a better shave with less hassle. *Side note: As of 2025 I no longer use the Micro Touch One that was a pre Rick Harris shaver, Replaced by a Gillette Slim Adjustable and a backup same era shaver with case for holding the Micro Touch only replacing because of the Micro Touch becoming finicky in the twist knob in 2024 with last straw in early 2025 when I had to throw the Micro Touch One on the ground to open up. I went for an old model as I have read reviews all adjustable made in butterfly opening were flawed except for the higher end Rockwell 2c and I am not paying $149.98--$159.98 for a shaver, $60--$70 was my limit as why do some models have to cost so much other than hype/where made or limited runs.
What do you mean by that? I noticed in 2013 or 2014 when the Micro Touch One was sold by the As Seen on TV company was on USA TV before the company got the sponsor of Rick Harris in mid 2014 for the shaver he used for his face mainly, was in some early sponsored commercials using the Micro Touch One on his head. Same As Seen on TV company was where Rick Haris was also the sponsored celebrity for the short-lived head shaver that is no longer made despite identical clones being sold by USA owned companies who copied the design, not just Chinese/Asian clones.
