For touching up, you can paste a strop (NOT your daily use strop!) with green chromium oxide. Some people think, however, that hanging strops shouldn't be pasted--leads to a rounded edge, apparently. Just make sure you keep it taut when you strop.

You can also get a barber hone on the old eBay for not too much money. Works in just this kind of situation.

Another option would be .50 micron diamond paste.

How does the razor shave currently?

I am a huge fan of chromium oxide (used sparingly - 10 laps at a time!) myself so you made a wise decision there, mate!

When I use chrome ox, I do very similar to this and get real nice results, too. A thin layer is important, I had originally put too much on my strop and kept dulling my edge. Just a very thin coating will do.

Not all CROX is the same get yourself some Hand American CrOx from Japanese Knife Sharpening or from a fellow user.

    Good luck!
