Barbasol has a new line of creams and gels sold as "Barbasol Ultra". Has anyone tried them? God bless.

I bought a can of the sensitive skin gel this morning at a local Dollar General store for just under two dollars. I think it is pretty good. It does not contain sodium lauryl (sp?) sulfate.

I been using the Barbasol Ultra as pre-shave prep (slather some on while I spend 3-4 minutes making my actual lather), and it seems to perform well for that.

I can't bring myself to use canned goo to actually shave with....:sick007

My Gel Experience and A Question

I have been using Barbasol shaving cream for years. It was o.k., but not great and not as close as I would have liked. I used Gillette Mach III blades, which with the cream gave me a decent, but not great shave. I should add that I live most of the year outside of the U.S., so when I come back I load up on blades and cream - they're very expensive outside of the U.S. Since I used to get barely a month's worth of cream from an 11 oz. can, and since I'm out of the country for 10 months each year, I have to pack 10 cans. I'm still in the states (for a week) and I tried Gillette Fusion blades - a better shave - with the cream, but not much better shave. Then a friend suggested I try a gel, so I have three 7 oz.cans and the difference is dramatic! I use about 3/4" gel, which I combine with water to create a thin lather and it takes me two minutes to get the closest shave I ever got before.
So my question is this, having no prior experience with gels: if I continue to squeeze 3/4" gel for each shave, how many shaves can I expect to get from one 7 oz. can?

    Barbasol Ultra...

A few months back I bought a can of the Barbasol Ultra Premium Sensitive Skin Shave Cream (Mojo) and didn't think much of it. Pretty similar to the other Barbasols I have tried. But then I started to put a small amount in my hand and dipping it in the hottest sink water my water heater can conjure up, and then gingerly rub it onto my already wet face, and it worked quite well. I think that they key is, is to keep the foam, and your entire shave, as hydrated as you possibly can. I used to be careful and not get the foam so wet so as to have it dripping off your face, but then I figured, "who cares?" Its not the crime of the century if your soap or cream or foam drops on your chest or in your sink, just use a washcloth or towel afterwards. Just as long as you have a well-hydrated shave, and a good one at that. I believe I may have mentioned this in an earlier post, canned foam by itself is terrible, but by adding water to it, it becomes, IMO, a good lubricant. In no way am I promoting Barbasol here, but a good thick canned foam works better than some generic brand when mixed with water. Sorry, I know most here like the more traditional soaps and creams. :ashamed001

Of all the canned goo Ive ever used barborsol and co bigelow are by far the most acceptable. I did get a free can from a nice hotel I stayed in once, It had a brittish coat of arms on it and was the slickest most wonderful canned fluff I have used.

I've got a can of regular Barbasol under my sink and it's never been that good for me. No can product has been outstanding but tube gels and creams work just fine. I've got 2 tubes of bump patrol mentholated gel and that is my back up and travel product, it will lather with a brush if you want to use one and is very slick, I'm not giving up my soaps though!
