I got the "made in Germany" version of the Treet DE Razor. When I first got this razor I was quite impressed. It seemed a little light but well balanced. It felt like shaving with a cartridge razor, kind of the "missing link between a DE razor and a cartridge razor, perfect for a Noob to TWS. And the razor alinement was always "spot-on". And the shave was very forgiving, irritation free and smooth. For the price. It seemed too good to be true...AT FIRST !!! Serious Problems developed with use. The top is connected to the handle with plastic threads extending from the top. Therefore I always tightened it very carefully as I wanted to make it last. No matter how carefully I treated this razor, after 3 months the top would get loose, making the blade a "loose cannon" and razor burn was not only possible, but started becoming a regular part of the shave...The sides of my moustace area actually started to scar from regular weepers and razor-burn due to a very gradually and continuous loosening. Even my wife noticed my red mouth corners, and made a crack about "Traditional Wet Shaving" leaving its mark... I was a believer in this razor but with regular use, the shaves became dangerously unacceptable. I never would have stuck with it as long as I did but the shaves in the beginning were so good, and the loosening is so gradual that you think its your technique, or a dull blade, or anything other than the razor. But then I notice that the way the plastic mold-seam line on the handle lined up with the plastic mold-seam line on the top, was way different than it was just 3 months ago. The design is basically good but the materials used just don't hold up...I immediately acquired and switched to a vintage Gillette and all redness and scarring disappeared within days...and I'm once again incredibly happy with TWS, and also with my '65 Slim... A Word to the Wise is Sufficient... PS This may not be the case with all razors of this type...But it certainly was with mine... If you have one and love it, Great. But please be careful...Thank You
