I am on an unexpected, yet serious buying spree from the last few months. Thanks to mail delays, they're all coming in one right after the other. Hadn't bought a single razor in 2 years and now all of a sudden, everything I want came up within a few weeks and it isn't done yet. However ..... This is one I wasn't looking for. I was looking for a Wilkinson Empire 7 Day set (which I did find, albeit a bit later. Was looking for a specific one). But I found this curio. The seller was not responsive, so I wound up taking a gamble because the price was low enough. My concern was this was not as advertised. But I was wrong. It APPEARS to be a later incarnation of the Wilkinson Empire set. However, I can find ZERO instances of anything like it. You'll notice it has a more modern blade guard, rather than the teeth other Empires have. It does not adjust, like Empires or later Pall Malls do. It has a locking switch at the top, to keep the blades in. The handle unscrews to lock and unlock the head for stropping. I have not yet unpacked the strop to check its condition, or even if I want to yet. I do not have an empire set here yet to compare the wedges with to, but they appear to be similar to pics I have seen. There was one open blade (pictured) that was slightly rusted in the razor, but there appear to be two others, completely unopened (strop and ready, maybe?) Anyone seen these before? Like I said, I have seen absolutely nothing anywhere about either a stroppable Wilkinson post-Empire, or a redesigned Wilkinson with a blade guard on it in place of teeth.
