Tender to the touch is to be expected this soon after surgery. It's a whole lot better than a persistent ache which could mean infection.
I had my follow-up visit with the surgeon today. It’s healing well. He removed the gauze & some stitches (the rest are the dissolving kind). It will still be sore for a while, but it looks a lot better.
It didn't affect my hearing, except for the first day, when I was wearing that shield over it. But now that the doctor says I can (and should ) wash it with soap & water a couple of times a day, it also looks better, without all the dried blood that had accumulated.
Glad to hear your recovery is going well. It's amazing what they can do with cancer these days if caught early enough, but it's still a real and often tough process with a lot of steps. Good luck. Sounds like you're on the mend!
