So after wanting a scuttle for may months (I live in a dorm apartment, washing my blade in a filled sink, just seems like a bad idea), I spoke with a friend who is an up and coming potter and she agreed to a art trade. She will throw some ones this weekend and let me choose which ones work best and then go from there. In exchange she will get a piece of my jewelry. My only issue is that I have no idea what to look for in a scuttle. I already want the inner bowl to be removable as I lather in a bowl(sadly it broke today). but besides that I dont know what to look for. Help.
Sounds like a nice trade Go look at the websites of the guys and ladies that make shaving scuttles, that should give you some ideas.
The most important thing I can think of, along with bowl size, is the reservoir. Make sure it has a decent capacity because the more water it can hold, the longer it will stay hot.
