For the first time in quite some time I don't feel ANY urge whatsoever to scour eBay, etc for something to buy. Razors My small collection seems to cover all the things I've wanted to have w/in DE razors; These I see myself keeping and using. - EJ DE89L (was my first razor and even though I don't use it any more I will never let it go), - Gillette Slim (birth quarter/year razor), - Gillette Big Boy (LOVE this razor), - Gillette NEW LC (common bar, gold), - Gillette NEW LC (ball-end handle, gold), - Gillette NEW SC (common bar, chrome. - Gillette Black Tip X3 Super Speed (all steel - handle and head), - Barbasol razor (just got it, feels amazing) These I may get rid of: - Plastic Neillite (black), - Odd/unusual Nacet OC razor (with the crocodile on the head) Soap: I see soap as more consumables these days. Something that I will have to keep buying as I continue to shave. I love Mystic Water's soaps but I'm hoping to get to try Cella and 3P as well but it's not something that makes me go look for new soaps as I'm really happy with MW. Brush - SOC Boar brush in ash wood handle (my first and only boar. I don't "love it" yet but it's not bad), * The brush area is where I still have one potential 'Holy Grail'. I'd love a Rubberset 400 in great condition and set a nice badger in it. But..that may or may not happen. It's kind of 'relaxing' to not go to www.eba.... tonight and type in "razor" or "vintage razor"
Crocodile on the head made me think Lacoste. French clothing company. The sponsor all the French tennis players. I've seen a Ralph Lauren brush and razor combo, so it doesn't seem so far off. Sorry that caught my attention. Congrats on being free of RAD. Brush AD is my big one. Been getting into soaps lately too.
Yep, congrats...I'm down to only 2 DE's now! I do have 8 brushes still, but may be trimming that soon also.
Nice Not that collecting is bad at ALL but if youre more of a user it feels really great when you feel you have arrived to a set of equipment that really works for you. Having said that I know I'm still very interested in razors, blades, brushes and soap and will continue to follow and participate because its also such a great, fun hobby to have. Oh and what are your two remaining razors?
Assuming this is what you want, that's great! I'm not into collecting. I am very much about utility value and use what I own. May head in the minimalist direction myself at some point.
I'm kind of skirting that line. I'm very much just a functional shaver but I'm very interested in the variety of things available. I do have a personality that trends to go overboard when I get excited about a given interest, but I've gotten better about that as I've gotten older. Thankfully, that hasn't been too bad with wet shaving.
Wow, I thought you linked a bottle of Tomatin when I saw that label..close. I just got a bottle of this 14 yr old scotch. Unfortunately, not too impressed by it.
