Can anyone provide me with information on where I could find a WW II era US Army issue safety razor. Looking for DE kind. Greatly appreciated!
Sorry. Can't help out with the razor, but... Welcome to the Den! I'm sure someone will be along that will be a bigger help than I am
Welcome to TSD! This is the best wet shave board on the planet! I have seen those sets on fleabay quite a bit. Country Joe may have some, but I don't know for sure. http://countryjoescollectiblestuff.com/raz-01.html
It's not nearly as easy to identify a WW II razor as one made for WW I. The WW I sets were furnished in khaki cased sets or the razors were stamped property of U.S.Army. They were also stamped with date identified serial numbers. Gillette, the prime supplier of de razors did not serialize their razors during WW II. The razor sold by Gillette during WW II to the government was the Contract Tech. It was identified by the box it came in with a stock number printed on it. Here are a couple Contract Tech razors and the boxes they came in. They may or may not have made their way to the Army. The best way to find one is to either search ebay or put in a wanted post here in the marketplace forum. Len
