I know they're are various version of the Tech. I scored a WW2 one with the black cap and Bakelite handle. I know the bottom plate is aluminum. The cap and bottom are the same weight. Are the caps aluminum as well? I contacted Jay @ Delta Echo to get the top cap recoated in a matte black because the coating has flaked off in some spots and for some reason I feel a connection to this razor.

It is similar to the top one, but with oval slots instead of triangular. I assume it is aluminum due to the weight and that I would expect zamak to have disintegrated by now if any plating/coating was gone. Am I correct?

I’d say aluminum as well. I think it wasn’t much more than paint on the head of mine. Really is an underrated razor! :D
