This is my first scale job, and my first peeining. I am not entirely happy with how that turned out, so I will probably re-do it, but I wanted to show it off anyway. Thank you VERY much to my friend Thirdeye from B&B for the etching! I love it.
Beautiful, is that gold engraving on the blade? I tried to join B&B but they have me on some sort of restricted thing where I can't post anything. If I can get on I will definitely look up Thirdeye because that is great. He must have a c and c machine or something. I also am a big fan of the decorative spine, I think they really make a razor stand out, and is one of the reasons I am going with a Dovo ebony prima with the silver steel blade and gold on the spine. One question though. How is the durability of the zebra wood compare to something like Lignum Vitae? I have a few straights with Lignum Vitae scales, and they are just superb.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments. I tried, but I have a lot I want to improve on. I have been working on my photography, and got a much better picture that shows off the engraving. I need to keep practicing peening... note to self: clean fingerprints before photographing next time... Rolls, I can't compare the two woods, I haven't worked with Lignum Vitae, but these seem very sturdy.
