Anybody ever used one of those battery operated face brushes?

Is it worth it? Does it exfoliate good for pre-shave face wash. Would you purchase it again?

One of my ex-girlfriends was a cosmologist. At 36, she looked 24. She used one religiously.
(Edit: her skin looked very youthful.)

That should answer your question, yes?

She had a definite opinion on them. The cheap battery powered ones were useless, according to her. The rechargable ones were the good ones.

Similar to dentist's opinions on $5 battery powered toothbrushes vs. $50-100 rechargable ones.

Although it may work and do a good job cleaning and exfoliating your face, I would consider it overkill if you're going to shave right after.
What with the shaving brush said to exfoliate, then the blade that I KNOW is exfoliating, I foresee potential irritation/burn issues.

The one thing I would say is that while I may be getting exfoliation from the brush and blade, I don't lather or shave my entire face. So, it seems like one would want a solution to exfoliate the upper cheeks and forehead, for instance.

I use my very first VDH brush when going for a full face scrub. But normal shaving routine works best for me. I usually end my shaves with a witch hazel splash. My skin doesn't look a day over sixty-seven.

I have something similar to it. Instead of a handle , mine is egg shaped. I use it once a week. Man, it leaves your face feeling sooo soft and smooth. I dig it, the face wash I have is a Japanese one. The soap is minty and there is some grit to it. A small dallop ok the brush and I go for about a minute.

Seriously, vintage nylon brushes are great for exfoliation, if you're actually trying to do so. They're nice and scritchy!

My wife actually bought me one. I like it but it's not something I would ever buy again. You can do just fine with soap and a wash cloth or something.

I had a boss at my first place of employment. He would scrub his face with Lava soap everyday. He had the reddest face I have ever seen. It was smooth though.
