Got a bottle today and have to say in the bottle, a nice musk, amber smell without being a cheap smell.I havent used yet on my skin so Ill give it a go on my next shave......
I really like it myself and have a vintage bottle (the race car) of it that I got off the 'bay. The modern version smells the same, but is lighter in scent, imho. Also now available in an EDT strength. Anyhow, I use the vintage stuff sparingly to make it last. And it's a scent that I clearly remember my father wearing.
After a shower tonight I put a little behind the ears and onto the chest......then got my wife to do a sniff. She really liked how light the smell is with a nice musky smell and something else...
The original formulation is noticeably richer than the current, but by no means overpowering or cloying. If you look around you can find the old stuff for as low as a nickel a bottle, and the stuff NEVER seems to go bad.
When my Father-in-Law passed away, he had several Avon Collectable bottles. I have them now. Nothing special but they do look nice.
