In all curiosity, what is an excellent beginner SR? How long until you're no longer a beginner and move to something more intermediate? What would an intermediate SR be?What are TSD's thoughts?

By SR, do you mean Safety Razor or Straight Razor?

FYI, around here SR generally means a straight razor. Safety razors are DE (double edge) or SE (single edge.)

I'd go with one of the Techs. The ball end is a bit easier to find than that fat handle. But, both are great razors and are newbie friendly.

Depends: you want a new razor or a vintage one?
