Best shave yet.

Just had the best shave I've had be in my short experience. 2 passes and a touch-up. I reopened 2 old Nick's slightly, but got a close shave and no new Nick's. My technique is definitely getting better.

Razor: Merkur Vision
Brush: Savile Row super badger
Soap: Proraso green
Aftershave: Old Spice Classic

It was especially satisfying after a 2-day growth. It was starting to feel like steel wool on my face, and it's just too hot for that.
Question: Do you notice you get a better shave if you wait a day or two before shaving as compared to shaving every day? Seems to me I get a better shave when there are more whiskers to cut as opposed to a little stubble.

 

When new, yes. Proper angle and pressure will allow perfect daily shaves as you master the techniques. Keep it up!

 

Congrats! Being a noob myself I can share your enthusiasm as Ive recently hit a streak with my Aristocrat that I can't see to go wrong. Rush/take my time prep no prep and its a great place to be. Plus the wifd noticed my improved smoothness!

Today, I tried my Qshave Futur clone. Another great shave. At first, I could hardly tell it was cutting. I set it at 1.5. I bumped it up to a 2.5 and didn't notice a difference, but decided to keep it there for all three passes. Did a couple of touch ups in places, and got a great shave. Not a nick or weeper on my face. But here's where it gets strange. I got a nick on my right earlobe and nicked my fingertip while putting the blade up to dry. I guess there's more than one technique I need to work on.

 

Merkur Vision is one of the few left on my want list.

Yes, I always get a better shave after 3 or 4 days growth.

I like mine a lot. Shaves similar to my 40s crat maybe a bit more aggressive.
