It is way to cold outside for me to be using menthol. This would be better suited for summer!

Why? My bathroom is the near same temp in the summer as it is in winter; I don't shave outside or with the windows open. The chilling effect of the menthol doesn't last forever and is gone by the time I get dressed and eat breakfast.

Fair enough. I don't spend much time hanging out at the house after I shave. I get dressed and head off to work. Then the cold weather + menthol combo is noticeable for sure.

Never had the menthol last for more than 15 minutes, but that's me.

Where I am, my bathroom is roughly 55 degrees F today; the corner where the computer is would probably need to add 5 degrees to reach that, and neither of the near windows are truly airtight. I consider these mitigating circumstances in whether I want a menthol blast, but that's me (to borrow a phrase).

I like menthol in the winter too. It gets me ready to face the 65 degree days we're having right now. Must be global warming.

OK, you Cryo people..... I just read about a new artisan soap called Yeti Snot made by The Shaving Yeti. The website isn't up yet, apparently you have to contact them via facebook (which I don't have). Anyhow... Yeti Snot looks to have some good reviews on that other shaving site. And the name alone, would make me want to try it (the puck is bright green). The folks at the other site have commented on how cold / face freezing it is. But, who needs menthol when your butt is always in the snow?

The other soaps apparently have similar odd ball names, but not having facebook, I couldn't find out anything about them.

I've heard this stuff is dangerously cold and that it's difficult to complete a shave because of the menthol rising up from the face and getting into the eyes. This is some funny stuff. Check out the 4 minute mark:

I literally just spit pepsi out of my mouth laughing so hard at this. I'm guessing that Yeti Snot comes with a slight warning. Bet Jeff already ordered a KG of it ;)

It's going to be in the negative Fahrenheit this week but I'm still looking forward to my glacial sterling soap. Might warm my face up after shoveling snow! That yeti snot looks interesting and if I read it right, $4 a puck seems good value.

Holy crud! Jeff MUST get some of this.

Is the guy in the vid a member here? Just curious.

This fellow should try Stirling Glacial and he'll find out what cold is. Mind you, I heard that this Yeti Snot can also freeze somebody big-time.

The shaving yeti went live yesterday and are offering 10% off this week. A 4.2oz puck will set you back $3.60. The other stuff seems interesting as well. They are melt and pour so don't make the soap but the prices and shipping seem reasonable.

Where would folks who have tried it rank Irena's Menthol Snow on the cryogenics continuum?

I'm willing to bet the menthol crystals would be stopped at the border and tested, my MBomb never even slowed down though and I find the glycerine a little nice when adding a cool burst to things.
