I picked up a GEM Featherweight last night. And, I was wondering if there was anyway to date it or gather any pertinent info from it. In my quest for information I couldn't even find the years it was produced. Thanks.

You could try candy and a night out, but I've heard that liquor is quicker. :p

The only featherweight I dated was indeed a GEM. That's why I married him. But as for the razors, I am afraid I do not know how.

The best I've been able to determine is that they came out in 1953. Here's an ad for the Feather Weight from 1954, note it doesn't say it's a new razor, so I think it's safe to say it was pre-1954 when they were released. I recall someone posting a picture of an ad from 1953 advertising it as being a new design, but I didn't keep it.

Thanks for the info. She cleaned up well and shaved great. Nice addition to my collection.

Flowers. And chocolate. And remember to bring her home before 10pm.
