I found a scrap piece of pink ivory and had some lathe time so here is my first handle ever. I have it in between a 20 mm WD and a Semogue that I always forget the model number on. I have a boar knot that is really long but tiny in diameter. Its maybe a 12 or 15 mm knot but its nearly as tall as my WD handle and knot together. If I use it I'll sink it really deep I would rather get a 20mm knot in some kind of badger. I still have some more sanding and finishing to go. Pink Ivory burns very easy, The dark stripe is where it burnt while I was sanding it on the lathe. It naturally very pink and it has a nice grain that I'm not sure came out in the picture. Here's is the knot I have next to it. Here it is dry fit. I will have to drill deeper for this extra long knot to make it look right. Its a mini basting brush knot so I'm thinking about waiting for a real shaving brush knot. I will eventually make a brush out of this knot set extra deep as a travel brush just to try.
