If I shave with one brand of shaving gel and a cartridge blade and change the shaving gel, will it matter for the life of the blade, or there is no big difference? Thank you.

Depends on the PH of it. The higher the PH from neutral the more beard softening it is. The material from Dr Dittmar claims most shaving gels are PH neutral and merely act as a lubricant for the blade and do nothing to soften whiskers. Obviously, a proper soap such as Dr. Dittmar, Arko, etc will increase the life of a blade since it is softening the beard.

So the answer is short is: one brand of gel to another- no difference. Shaving gel to a shaving soap- big difference.
