I did not know the FB exec was shorter than the working man FB. Thanks for the info and pics. Here is my FB. It's a F1 1960. It gets used every week with a Feather blade. It's like new, and gives me my best shave, out all my adjustables.
I am thinking of getting my slim plated in bright nickel. It is in pretty good shape and shaves well.
The nickel will last a long time. More so than gold, if you plan on using it a lot. Who would you use?
Who would I use? I am not sure. I have a big variety of razors that I use, and I am just now getting around to the slim after a rest. The last time I used the slim was March 26. I will be using it for a week starting on Wednesday. I am looking forward to that.
I absolutely would use Chris Evatt at Razor Plate without question. This I'd the'58 Exec he just sent back to me! He also did a fat handle tech in nickle for me (gift) and uncovered and saved the diamond etched Gillette logo (it had been covered by an earlier botched replate by somebody). Check him out online at www.razorplate.com.
SF Bay area Craigslist has a seller (about 15 minutes for me) who is asking $40 for a Fatboy, $30 for a Slim; the whole deal pictured below for $120.. I'm sure it's negotiable....(Too bad I'm not in the market for vintage DEs).
For the benefit of those TSDers within driving distance. My apologies for dangling the unreachable before others...
There's also a listing from someone selling a complete barbershop from the 1940's in Emeryville for $5000. Complete with chairs, razors, brushes, etc.....
