hello shavers.what is your favourite razor and why?.grandfathers, fathers, grandmothers,?rarity, looks, best shave? anything goes.de,se,straight, cartridge, home built. i am sure this has been asked before but i am curious and love the pictures and eye candy.thanks gary.
This is my favorite DE. The Razorock German 37 Slant. Makes a very comfortable shave and is a simple pleasure to use. For my straights. I'm tied between my coticule honed GD 66 and Fautless. Both shave pretty good.
It's a tie between my '71 SA-109(top) or My NEW SC(ca. 1932-1940) The gap is so small, I wouldn't want to live on the difference
Don't have an old, but my NEW has never given me any irritation and I'm an everyday shaver due to work. Loaded with a GSB it's a stubble assassin.
Thanks, I love 'em both. Both were fleamarket finds last season. Hoping for more of the same this year.
Yes only because I wanted a Weber for so long, I will say the Timeless is a stunning razor and performs amazingly, even at over $200. Which my Weber wasn't far behind $$.
I read another post by you, you mentioned the near flawless tolerances in the Timeless. Seems like a cool razor, it even inspires people to start threads about it!
Chris, the way the head screws on the handle is amazing, there's no way of getting around the price tag, it's an expensive tool.
Easily my Pre-War, Fat Handled Gillette Tech (Triangular Holes). I know they're common, mild, and not highly sought after, but it provides the smoothest and best BBS shave my face can get. It is the only DE I even own and use anymore.
For me it's the Feather AS-D2 with Feather blades. It's the only razor/blade combination that routinely gives me a totally irritation free BBS. My new Parker Variant arrived a couple of days ago and it is a very, very close second now. As you can tell I like very mild razors with very sharp blades - It's what works for me!
