Enjoy your day off and sorry to hear about yesterday's mishap with the razor. It sounds familiar though, Neal and a bad razor, where have I heard that one before? :signs002: Anyway, glad the blade is still performing well for you. I have picked up a few of the Bics to use in the next few months and am looking forward to comparing them to the GSB, Bolzano and others.

Thank you. My yard is pretty much the same but I do have a couple of bushes that turn flame red in the fall. So I took advantage of the dry sunny weather to get the photo.

    Razor: Merkur Futur
    Blade: Feather (1)
    Brush: Omega 81230
    Soap: MWF
Post: Alum, Witch hazel and fine platinum.

Haven't posted in a while life has been getting in the way. Just had another beautiful shave, I pumped the Futur up to 6. It was still extremely smooth and forgiving. 3 passes with two touch ups got me to BBS. These results were something I used to dream of. No sting from the Alum and the fine platinum finished it in style. It really is a special A/S. On a side note I have successfully converted a good friend of mine. I lent him some stuff and he is very happy with the results and the process. I can't wait to infect him with various ADS. Enjoy the evening all.

Great pic Doug. What do you think of the CC Sandalwood soap? I only ask because I was one of those that tested the pre production soap.

I think it is an excellent shaving soap. You must have done a very good job. :happy088: It lathers very easily and has a very good scent. Finishing with the Captain's Choice Sandalwood A/S makes for a very good shaving experience IMO.
I have to qualify that by saying that the Captain's Choice products are good, but are not Route 66 products. I have found nothing that comes even close to Route 66 Shaving Soaps. IMO

Just realized that I never posted last nights shave.

    Mama Bear Black Code
    Semogue Boar
    Gillette Super Speed
    Viking Sword (2)
    Axe Sheild

The Viking Sword was just as smooth and sharp as it was the previous shave. I don't really have anything to say about it. 2 passes, ears to center and S/N with slide on the neck for a near BBS. If I had pushed for the Baby I would have caught it easy. Tonight will be day 3 on the Viking. When it is too dull for me to get a comfortable shave I will go back to straights.

I recently made some "suggestions" to members, so I'll either get blamed or thanked. I see you're a Sandalwood man. There is some of that in the Wm. Neumann samples I just bought.

I would say I'm more of a Route 66 man. :) I have Captain's Choice Sandalwood so I use it occasionally.

    Baseball pattern:

Lather and shave one section at a time. We are SR noobs, and can't shave fast enough to lather the whole face.

Right field (lather and shave R cheek/jaw)

    Left field (see above)

    Center field (neck)

    Infield (goatee/mustache, mouth area)

Ah, that makes sense, thanks! I don't have to worry about the infield, I have a goatee. But I will use that as well once I am ready. Next week or so.

The main difference....I usually know it's a bad razor when I pick it up. Hate surprises.

Maybe I can get the legendary Vin Scully to announce my shave tomorrow. But seriously, that's clever-this "baseball pattern".
