I like using Clubman Pinaud aftershave and then spritzing on Chanel's Pour Monsieur EDP. Clubman aftershave smells like a perfect compliment for it.
I'm not good at describing scents, but here goes. VIBR- smells like rum. It's sweet, but not sickly so. Clove isn't the primary scent like many bay rums, but there's some in there. My wife says: it smells like cinnamon and I get that from it, there's also a little more to it. It has some similarities to Captain's Choice BR, but is less complex and isn't as sharp. It dissipates quickly that's the best I can do. I hope it helps.
Whattaya tryin' to say? C'mon, it's MAYhem! What's a little burn. 'Sides if your technique is good, there is no burn.
No, you did fine....it's just that when I want a Bay Rum aftershave, I want the clove aspect to blend in with the other features, not stand out.
I have eat some words, I have warmed up to the original very nicely. As I type this, I am enjoying it immensely! Long live Clubman
Same experience for me - barber's used the talc on your neck after a haircut. Love the scent, even more so now- But, to me, VIBR is the best of the line.
On the subject of using a Clubman product as a compliment for something else-I really enjoy using the Clubman Special Reserve A.S. to compliment my Rte 66 Cavendish shave soap.
Used my Clubman VIBR after shaving with Col. Conk Bay Rum Soap this morning. Mmmm-Mmmm Love me some Bay Rum!
For the rest of the week I'll be using some form of Bay Rum soap. So that means Clubman VIBR! Ah, Bay Rum!
How clovey is the Clubman BR? I got a hold of Stirling BR shave soap and it's over powering; kind of steered me away from BR in general. Is it anything like Special Reserves? I really like that.
I think it's a bit clove forward when you first put it on, but it mellows out to being really spicy after a minute or two, about when the alcohol evaporates.
