Picked up this Gillette razor last week and when cleaning it noticed that the pieces were different, one end was solid the other was split. From searching I figured this was from 1948 to 1950 area but the ends have confused me (not that that's difficult!) Could someone give me an idea as to what I have? I also have the same razor but both the ends are solid on that one.

You have lost an end cap. The razor will still work fine without it. It is a 1948 - 1949 Super Speed.

A warm welcome to you from North Texas. You might want to take a look at some of the references contained in my signature line below for discussions of the 30 Day systems and more on hardware.

    With that being said ...

    welcome to the den.
the bright side is you can photograph it in profile.
it'll look like you have a rocket one day and a ranger the next.
