Greeting's fellow Wetshavers! I've been using straights since '99 and got into DE's about a year or so later. I mostly use a DE currently, with some help from shavettes if I'm sporting facial hair as I typically do in the winter. I still pull out the straights occasionally just for the fun of it when the mood strikes. Ask me next year and it might be reversed. My favorite DE is the Merkur Futur. I've got a few old Gillette DE's and can get good shaves from them, but I'm just not that into the silo door types like the SS's and Slims. I like the 3 piece razors much better. Also the heavier the better. I feel more control with some heft to the razor. If I'm not using the Futur, its an old 3pc brass Gillette. I enjoy soap making as a winter hobby, love love the tallow! No commercial interest, just for me and friends/family. I render my own tallow from beef suet, and love to experiment. Wilbur
