Mine is all metal and its the last year of it having all metal construction. I believe the 1977 models and afterward have that plastic baseplate.
. I've not gone back to the Astra since before my 30 day. I will do someday. At the mo Gillette silver blues are rocking my world. Strange because I think I started this thread saying I tried a s/b and it was awful. Obviously it was my technique that was awful.
