We don't have a pecan tree, but they steal the neighbors' pecans and bury them in our back yard. Drives the Schnauzer crazy.
I have eaten road kill venison, bear and grouse. I am hopefully never hungry enough to eat road killed coon.
I'll try anything at least once. If it's good I would gladly eat it more! Hmm... Most exotic/strange... Chicken hearts, snapping turtle, beaver, moose, escargot... Can't think of any other "abnormal" meats that I've had
A year or two ago, I found a forgotten box of original Atkins low carb bars buried in the bottom of our chest freezer before we moved to N.C. They dated from the early 2000s and were delicious.
Wife and kids are out of town for a few days so I'm enjoying Hormel Roast Beef has straight outta the can.
Live sea urchin, it was interesting, but not actually all that tasty. Skipjack Tuna sashimi cut by the first mate of the boat, five minutes after I pulled it into the boat. That was very good.
If it's moving, it's not going in my mouth. Other than that and some Asian delicacies, like balut, I might eat most anything. I can't name all the mushrooms I've tried. I've had some spicy dishes which really made me ponder my decision, but the endorphins always kick in. Some Russian delicacies I've tried include sala (raw bacon fat), and holodets (meat jelly) .
Having spent 30 years in the Army and living in a dozen different countries - I'm up for just about anything that doesn't try to eat me first.
Where were you when this was taken? It doesn't look restaurant-ish, and if you tell me that is some sort of family feast, I want to be adopted.
I lived in Cambodia for ten years. All kinds of bugs, dogs, eggs with feathered chicks, blood, organs.. Nothing I wouldn't eat at least once.. Some things... like crickets and silk worm pupae actually would go out of my way for.
As long as the ants aren't crawling anymore I would eat that. Goat is good, I have had that many times.
