This is my holy grail razor. I have wanted one for ages. It's British, from the 1930's; it has an Art Deco decoration on the cap; name engraved on the handle; a small heart engraved at the bottom of the handle... Any guesses yet. It looks in great condition, but it will be fully restored, and re-plated, in time. I bought it on eBay, so without looking - How much do you think I paid? I present the Eclipse Red Ring. It's in the post. Woo Hoo!
Very cool! However, I would re-plate in rhodium or nickel instead of time. Put that on and it will make a razor that has a way of getting away from you. I crack me up!!
http://www.razorplating.co.uk Looks like the handle has a crack in it. ^^^This guy will braze it before he replates it. He's a bit more detail oriented than most replating services. He'll also fill in any dents and scratches as well.
I had one once but I didnt care for the shave much, which was disappointing for me as I had wanted one for a long time, but for me its one of the nicest looking razors, I hope it shaves well for you, enjoy.
Those that suggested I might have paid - $20-40. I wish, actually I don't know how much that is in GPB. It cost me £67.55 and £5 postage. I'm very pleased. The last one I saw, unboxed, went for £155 and the last one I saw with a case was £323. So, I think I did okay. I'll have to sell something though!
