Insignificant, but valid question for my record keeping

    1 pass
    2 pass
    Red pass
    Blue pass

So. Lots of you do 2 pass and touch up, lots do 3. I am in the middle.

    1 - With the grain
    2 - Across the grain
3 - Against the grain (very lightly) on neck only
    4 - Touch up along neck/jaw line

So, would this be a 2 1/2 pass with touch up? I am currently seeing how far I can take a blade in my Injector.

    Thanks for your input.

With cross and against and some touch up, technically I would say 2.75 passes and just round up to 3...

    Thank you.

    That makes this much easier!

I would say that if you are doing more than catching a spot or two that you missed in the prior pass, it is a new pass.

Your description sounds like three passes to me.

I understand wanting to quantify things, but all that really matters is that you have a comfortable and irritation free shave that you enjoy.

    Indeed.

I wouldn't care except for this next little while- keeping track of the razor life.

I usually change every Saturday but I am going to push that for as long as I can comfortably do so.

    Monkey wrench...

Are you keeping track of the number of strokes? If not, today's shave may have been 17 strokes less than yesterday's shave. That may equate to only a 2.5 pass shave instead of the 2.75 Dale suggests.

I lather up only twice any more. So, I call it a two pass shave. I quit chasing the Baby years ago. I get great shaves, and I get to shave daily.

    Three lather-ups. Three full passes.
    98% of the time.
In reality, I could get by on only two-passes, but why cut short the joy of shaving? ;)

    What’s a pass?
A single squeegee like swipe or multiple swipes with a single lather? If it’s the former I am in real trouble because I might be up to a twelve pass. If it’s the latter it’s a two pass.

Number of strokes? Goodness- no telling. I do quite a bit of buffing.

Oh well, my shaves are typical for me. I suppose I should not worry about the number of passes and simply - at the end of this experiment- say that for ME- I got this many shaves out of this blade.

I tell you, though, I didn't know I would enjoy these Injector razors as much as I am. And maybe it's just something different. Regardless, they are as good to me as any of my DE Gillettes.

Lather up, when you've scrapped all the lather off your face, pass is done. That's one. Rinse, repeat.

Monkey wrench squared (if there is such a thing as a square monkey wrench)

Does a 3" stroke count as two 1.5" strokes? :scared011:

When in doubt regarding passes, I always try to consult a reputable source. :D

Considering that Alex's handle is @Knox, I at least would have figured that he would go the "Fox In Sox" route.:p
