Today was a wonderful MAYhem recovery shave. I bought this razor NOS and had been shaving with the factory edge. Last night I touched it up on my Naniwa 12K. What a difference I am smooth and refreshed.

After 4 weeks of SE razors I wanted to use a DE. Decided to go with the ATT Calypso R1. The ATT Calypso Line is an aluminum version of their popular stainless steel DE razors. After spending so much time with the brass General the lightness of the Calypso took me a few strokes to get reacquainted. The R1 is a mid aggressive razor that I would liken it to a Slim on 5. Once I was used to the weight difference the 3 pass shave was a near perfect BBS. Overall I would rate the shave as a solid A to A+. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

I did this in college as well. I had an awesome kid named Bubba. We hung out a lot and all my friends took a liking to him. He ended up moving some months later but it was a good time while it lasted.

Great shave mild irritation switched out the Soap and AS for Caties Bubbles Irish Whiskey and TSD Vanilla Bourbon both great products.

I also have very course hair so I do 4 passes, WTG, XTG, XTG in the opposite direction then finally ATG. I just go for reduction each pass instead of going for BBS in 2 or 3 passes. It made a big difference in irritation, with this method and 4 passes I rarely have irritation.

 

Thank you Andrew. The handle is an ATT handle. It is hard anodized like the rest of the razor. ATT lists the specs for the handle as 3.5" long and 27 grams with the fully assembled razor coming in at 40 grams. Initially I was not keen on the blue base plate but I have come to like it better over time.
