Thank you Doug. Tuesday has started off pretty good. At least I am not rushed and running late today.
Pretty busy and the physical therapy twice a week takes up a lot of time. At least the reduced pain allows me to concentrate and get some things done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dear Gents, I don't own a Mongoose , but I'm intrigued by the different series or batches or choices. Can anyone point me to a site I can read about this, as I'm toying with the idea of getting one, but I don't know which. I gravitate towards a curved head as I like to vary the angle of the razor while shaving, but in the case of the Mongoose I'll make an exception. To help a little, I like how the General shaves with the pro and super pro. Thank you.
Check out the first page of this thread. It covers the first 3 batches. The Mongoose II sold at Maggard Razor is a different head design to my knowledge.

Thank you Doug. I am planning to use my AlumiGoose V1 next week and follow up with the Mongoose B2 for a couple more weeks.
Sounds good. At some point would you explain the difference between the different Mongoose and AlumiGoose models and their numbers ie B1, B2, V1 etc.
For general information there have been three different production runs of the Mongoose. The first batch was limited to 50 razors and were polished. Batch 2 was available in either Polished or Satin Finish with 2 sizes of polished handles or 2 sizes of satin handles. Batch 3 razors were revised to have the pins from the top cap extend through the bottom plate. Also only the smaller handles were available. Batch 3 continued to be offered in both the Polished and Satin Finishes. The next evolution was the Mongoose II offered at Maggard Razor. It looks to have a slightly different head design but I do not have first hand knowledge. The AlumiGoose V1 was a limited item as well. The head was much like the Mongoose B3 with pins that extended through the bottom plate. Many have found that the AlumiGoose V1 is more aggressive than the Mongoose. I find the my AlumiGoose V1 to be a blade more aggressive than my Mongoose. By this I mean the AlumiGoose V1 with a Feather Pro is more aggressive than my Mongoose B2 with a Feather Pro Super blade. After the limited run, the head design was altered slightly and offered through Maggard Razor. Many find the AlumiGoose V2 less aggressive than the V1. Please understand that some of the above is my opinion and as usual YMMV.
Most of it was cut and paste from the front page with some new info added. Maybe someone who has the newer Mongoose II can chime in as well.
