I've always kept my software under 10 products at any given time (no backups) and I'm near capacity now; a couple of them are less than 30%, so I can see using them up over 2016 and making 2017 my restock year. Currently happy with my razor & brush collection unless of course I stroll past a $5 Toggle or something in a shop window. Haven't bought blades in three years and have enough for at least another three. I do need to work on a better bathroom organization/cabinet system. I'm unofficially in, I suppose. I'll decide before my 2016 State of the Shave Union address in January.
for the evangelizer in all of us ... can we buy hardware and software and gift it to a newbie wet shaver? is that a bill of rights item or do we need an amendment?
I've got more than enough stuff to enjoy in the coming year. I hope to either use and/or gift more than I acquire.
Thanks to a timely trade with one of the fine members here my "500" is on the way! So I'm in! No buy 16. Now maybe I can find a wide angle lens and start doing some landscapes!
OK....how do I get in on this ? Any stipulations, can I trade like crazy ? I've amassed enough razors to last me a few lifetimes Just look 3 posts below !!!
The TSD store is an exemption?? You guys are sneaky. I like it cuz I may need more M-Bomb and I'm out of $$ right now because of Christmas for grandkids.
I plan on using up some of the limitless soap stock I have accumulated in the past year of wet shaving. Not too sure if I can commit to a full year just in case I run into a deal of the century. When I first started I would squeeze the leftover lather from my brush and put it in a bowl, after 4 or 5 shaves I would use the leftover lather from various soaps. It does work and could help someone save some money, but I haven't seen the bottom of a soap yet so I stopped doing this and have begun trying to use it up. It becomes a problem because I use synthetic brushes 90% of the time and usually only load enough for 3 passes so the soap seems to last forever.
Just for those stocking up before the end of the month, Bath & Body Works has CO Bigelow SC at buy 2, get one free sale. Couldn't help myself and got 3 total for the cost of 2.
You can buy gifts for others, this is about not adding more to the collection and enjoying what we already have =) By PIFing, you are not adding anything to your own den
I am in for doing this also. At least, for the most part. -I have a couple of brush handles that I may buy knots for if I ever figure out for sure what I want to put in them. -While I have bought a ton of AS in the last year, I have pretty much narrowed myself down to three or four that I wear all the time. If I need to, I will replenish them. -I am kind of a menthol head, and am going to need another Stirling Glacial when summer rolls around. That's it. I have been thinking about this for a while now, and other than those few things, there is nothing I could possibly say I am lacking, and even those are wants, not needs. To me, I just need to stop the impulse buys: "Hey everybody, Italian Barber has XYZ soap on sale for $5.99", then quick go there to buy the soap and throw in a brush while I am at it, kind of buys. I just plain ole have too much stuff.
