Well, I guess the DE bug is contagious. My son asked me to find him a good vintage starter razor. I picked up a Gillette blue tip super speed on eBay for a good price for him. He's got a light beard and I figured the blue tip would be the best place for him to start. He already asked to borrow my Slim. He wants to shave the way his grandfather did. What have I started?
Hang on a minute, Pops. Don't forget about your adopted son! I already know how to drive a stick, too! Keep up the good work!
you got the perfect excuse to buy new ones buy em use em a while, give em to the boys buy new ones. sounds like the circle of the good life to me.
Well, it's funny you bring that up. I thought about picking up another vintage Gillette and telling my wife that it's for my son. Think it'll work?
The other good thing is the more your son learns about RAD and SAD the better gifts you'll get from him for your shave den.
spin, man, spin. gotta learn to spin. your not buying, your just replacing the ones they got from you.
that's awesome!! I convinced my dad to start using a brush and soap but at the time he still uses cartridge razors (I am working on that lol). I wish I had discovered the world of wet shaving years ago. they don't sell much at the big stores so there was no way to learn about it. the different scented creams/soaps was the main reason I switched. that's great that he wants to start wet shaving.
Very nice. My son inherited his beard from his mom's side of the family. It is so spars, that it takes a week to grow out in patches. He only uses an electric. Greg W.
My father was always an electric man as long as I can remember. I did that for years, but never got a decent shave and just accepted it. Then turned to cartridges and things got a little better, but with razor burn galore. At 40 I am finally learning the benefit of proper prep, a DE, and the wonderful creams/soaps available (and not that goop in a can I used for years). Congrats on showing him the proper path!
