It's here, it's here I received my new stainless steel brush handle today. It's a beauty and I love how it fits my hand! I guess I am now committed on my first brush build. It's time to shop for a 24mm knot. I'm thinking of using it for my first synthetic. Any knot suggestions?
I just got a synthetic from TGN. I really like it. As a matter of fact, it is quickly becoming my most favorite brush.

I have the Stirling synthetic, and I think this is probably the same style knot but couldn't say for sure. @GDCarrington might have an idea.

Congratulations! Looks very cool. I have a the Sterling synthetic brush and I like it a lot and almost ordered a 24mm synthetic for my Rubberset 400 but went with a Silvertip from Whipped Dog. The synthetic brushes don't seem to have the same backbone as the Silvertips unless you can set it deep. So I would check on how much depth you have to play with, in making your decision. I have that knot. It is the same as the Sterling brush hair. I like it better than the Sterling, as I find the Sterling to be just a bit on the "too big" side of things. Edit: the hair used in it is among the best available in synthetic knots and the price is great.
Do you have a good; - badger, - boar, and - synthetic or is there one missing? In that case maybe pick that. (I didn't include horse as personally (YMMV) I won't go near horse knots again)
I have two badgers and a bore that I use regularly. That is why I am thinking synthetic. I have looked at TGN, Whipped Dog and Chiseled Face's websites so far. Any recommendations?
I'd defer to the knot experts here. My only synthetic that I use regularly is the L'Occitane Plisson one and I really like it a lot - anything close to that in performance would, in my book, be a winner. (The more I look at those photos of yours I really like the size and shape of that handle... I'm such a sucker for shiny stainless steel stuff )
I've ordered from all three companies, but only have a synthetic from Chisled Face. You can't go wrong with any of them, in my opinion. Pick the knot you like the look of best. I've read good reviews about the synthetic offerings from all three companies. Says the guy with a custom "shiny" to match his Wolfman razor. That was you, wasn't it?
The first post in this thread would seem to confirm that. So many threads on these handles, it's hard to keep a handle on the goings on around here.
