    Sunday shave:

Another reminder how important lather is for a straight razor shave. This sample was lacking in the slickness department and kept drying out on my face. I got a very close shave but two small weepers and some feedback from the alum.

No 3-D Action Cap clickie noises here. I've settled in around setting Five, rather than going Full Monty Neal. Got my traveling den already packed so I'm not going to stress test the Ming Shi tonight. Next time it sees action I'll crank it up and try to duplicate your experience.

(YouTube didn't have a decent version of the tune. Why Vimeo gotta treat us this way?)

Packed the Ming Shi to travel, so those Red Tip Users had their way with me. Grabbed up the big ole boar and loaded T&H from the puck kept in an Ikea Grundtal container. Wasn't someone looking for wide soap tubs? Four inches, baby! No worries making lather though I've noticed I'm not getting enough water on first pass. Dropped a fresh blade in the DE and proceeded to take three full passes, G-Slides, and a full round of chin buffing. Ahh. Alum already in the travel case so I can't report if there was any heat, but the AS went on sting free and I'm smooth. This feels like one of those long lasting shaves! Back to the Clone next time, I promise.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

I went down to see Mom on Friday afternoon so I don’t plan on going down today. I will call her a little later this morning to make sure.

I do plan for Maya and I to go out for tacos. The local taqueria has a fantastic Korean Beef taco that we both crave.

That’s a pretty small closet and it’s not even full. I’m not sure what the problem is.

    Sunday morning November 19

    Supply Single Edge injector V 2.0 / Personna (8)
Semogue Owners Club cherrywood boar brush
TOBS Jermyn Street for Sensitive Skin cream (sample)
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Original

I tried my sample of TOBS' shaving cream for sensitive skin today. I am not sure how it differs from their regular formula, although the description does mention that this cream contains aloe vera. Unfortunately the little sample tubs don’t come with an ingredient list so one can compare. The cream in the sample tub seemed harder and almost waxier than the other creams, and when I smeared it in my bowl and lathered it, a small remnant remained unlathered in the bottom of the bowl. But I don't know if that's all normal or just an artifact of a small sample drying out.

The lather also didn't seem as pillowy as usual with TOBS creams but did form a long-lasting creamy consistency that spread easily on the face like a thin liquid plaster and provided excellent performance.

The scent is light and mild - lavender, oakmoss, wood and other stuff.

Instead of my normal two-pass shave to a good basic DFS, I did a full three-pass shave with my injector to a very near BBS with no irritation despite the unusual extra pass everywhere. So the cream did its job well.

Overall, I am not sure what to think. The scent is okay, although I prefer Mr. Taylor's or even the straight Sandalwood, Lavender or Avocado. It may perform very well for people with touchy skin, but I do very well with the standard TOBS creams. And I have enough tubs of regular TOBS already, so I have no need to rush out and buy this, especially since it's more expensive than the regular TOBS tubs. I am glad I tried Jermyn Street but I don't think it will be joining my den.

Thanks for taking the time to write up your thoughts on TOBS Sensitive Skin formula. I really liked the TOBS Sandalwood and my wife approving of the scent was a huge bonus.
