Amazon just dropped off my order at work. A fresh bottle of Osage Rub included. After one guy asks what is was, I shared with four others. They're all still rubbing their faces.
The scent is so medicinal to me, but it does have good coldness. Someone on here mentioned mixing Aqua Velva and Osage together. That sounded interesting.
Perhaps you're thinking Skin Bracer and Osage? I heard it called Green Goddess. I call it Green Goblin
Our summers here are just as uncomfortable as those in Washington DC and points southeast. Thus, it's become time for me to give it a go.
I've a large bottle of it, nearly full. My wife can't abide the scent— to her it's cheap & medicinal smelling. I tend to agree with her observations on this, although the stuff does provide a good method chill.
Same here. My wife says it's too medicinally-scented. I'll agree that there are nicer-scented aftershaves but I use the Osage Rub-aka The Rubby Dubby Doo for its menthol freeze and refreshing action.
I forget who did it first, someone clued me to Osage Rub, followed by Florida Water. They go well together. Disclaimer; This was not SWMBO tested or approved.
I personally don't use it as an aftershave. I put it on a wet towel and rub down with it. It's especially nice if a shower isn't going to happen for a couple of hours.
I use it everyday and don't want to ever be without it. The scent doesn't last long on me and I use it before applying a/s or cologne. Love the refreshing chill
I just use the Rexall blue menthol rub. Cheap, locally available and when spiked with a few more menthol crystals, about as effective.
Dragging up another old thread. Love me some Osage Rub! Nothing better in the humid MA summers than a night shave and then slapping some of The Rub on my face. Absolutely love that frigid feeling. I don't really mind the smell either. Reminds me of the eucalyptus spray they use in my gym's steam room. It is refreshing. I'll even mix it with Skin Bracer or Lucky Tiger sometimes for an extra little kick and soothing effect. Funny, as I really can't stand mentholated shave soaps, but I love a heavily mentholated aftershave for sure.
