We were discussing this elsewhere and I thought it would be good to bring up here. It looks like Plisson is holding pat with the Generation 3 knot that they have had success with in the Cade L'Occitane brush. Now even Plisson realizes that synthetics are fully viable in the marketplace with some very nice but pricey handle combinations. http://blaireauxplisson.com/en/39-shavingbrushes-fiber
They seem to still be very popular. I am even jumping on the band wagon. Many have sought me out for a handle replacement. I am just learning about these Plisson lovers.
I've got over 70 synth knots, but I have never used one. I plan to make myself one tomorrow. The new TGN knots look very much like the Plisson knots. I wonder.......I call them the Euro TGN knots.
If they are the three band versions then I prefer them over the Plisson (especially the 24mm version). http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/ever-ready-c40-heavier-with-24-mm-tgn-3-band-synthetic.33792/
Wow. That is expensive. But then, I am also the guy who wonders why anyone would buy a brush of any sort that lists for over $50. I just don't get it.
that's me as well—but I do also appreciate the quality and workmanship that goes into some of the pricier brushes. Chubby 3 Manchurian Badger Faux Briar Price From £269.95
