You would have to search the forum or the other forums but there is a easy fix for the Slim , a way that bends it back into place, its a fix that Fatboy users talked about. I bought a razor to a local plater and he wanted to charge me $65 a razor when I balked at the price he said" you could take it to a chrome shop but they would might lose it". I have used Reliable and they work well and if you have an issue with the plating you can address it with them. Other wetshavers have used Razor Emporium and there is a video somewhere of how they prep razors before they send them out for plating, maybe on their website. Reliable is the plater most associated with wetshaving and has been handling razors for awhile, RE are a bit newer but the owners are notable Gillette collectors and dealers and how they clean up vintage razors was even published in a national mag. Either way I suspect you can't go wrong its just the decision of what you want to do.
