I always wondered why it is called Alcoholics Anonymous when they give their names. The anonymity is at the level of press, radio, TV and film. What is said in the meeting stays there. Of course AA was founded before the internet and forums like this.
Very nice! Wait a minute... Where's @mrchick ? I think we saw his warehouse of razors a few weeks ago.
Okay, okay. Here you go. This is still about 15 razors short.. I haven't a clue as to what to do with the Christy razors or the CurveFit. I admit it. I have a problem. I can't find good people to get the razors to. I also like cleaning them too much - I just did some tests to work out the best way to clean/polish some messed up ones. I think the NEW SC I'm working with was involved in a fire. I will say - I have no more than 5 different soaps, one after shave, one 'Cooling Lotion' for sensitive skin, and 300 some blades. Yup, yup. Restraint, Yo!
Oh - the Single Ring in those photos isn't. It's a clone of some sort. So, I think I've posted enough that you don't have to get @mrchick involved.
I haven't figured out the best way to lay them all out to take photos, and if I should take photos of the ones 'in progress'.
I found that putting a bunch of it away and not having it all out in plain site makes it better somehow....
I know nothing of this addiction you speak of. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/lets-see-your-collection.54793/page-4
You just showed up at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting with a pound of weed, an ounce of coke, a sheet of acid, and some heroine...and said you're going to sell some.
I can stop whenever I want... But I don't want to. I've only started this last January but the closet espace for my shaving parafernalia is growing at a steady pace! I can't help myself they are all beautiful! hehe For me besides the object fetishization and allure, the chase of new sensations, new smells, more comfortable and efficient shaves it's a main drive too. And of course, ultimately, it's a lot of fun.
I am an admitted razorholic. I frequent all the usual "bars" for those of us afflicted. Ebay is my first stop daily, local Craigslist, Shopgoodwill.com and Shaveden of course. I hit as many flea markets, antique shows and swap meets as my schedule will allow. I live by the picker's mantra: "Buy it when you find it." I have gotten some bargains and I have over-paid. I only regret the purchases I didn't make. A toast to all of us: “Here’s to a long life and a happy one, a quick death and an easy one, a good man and an honest one, a vintage razor… and another one.”
Okay, I posted here already, but no pictures. Time to fix that: Not pictured, EJ DE89bl Yeah, I am addicted.
