Welcome to TSD, glad you decided to join us.

To start off, I try to stay away from what is worth it or not; I just think to myself "Its a 3-4 inch item to remove whiskers from my face". That thought in mind I don't think twice about purchasing a pair of glasses for over $400. I wear them at least 18 to 20 hours a day for years.

Well now my question for you is vintage or newly manufactured?

For vintage I'd say the Old Type, New, Red Tip Flare, or the adjustables like the Fat Boy or Slims.

For new I think the Fatip 3 models (very affordable) and Rockwell S6 are at the top of my list of cost effectiveness.

This merely my opinion on the matter not law or scripture. :D

Yeah, you may want to consider an adjustable.

Personally I like the Merkur Progress.

Progress is amazingly smooth and as aggressive (efficient) as you like.
