So I got a sampler pack of Col. Conk soaps (judge me) and I love the scents especially the lime and Bay rum. Bay Rum is easy to pair but what about Lime or Almond what AS Scents make sense? What cool combos have you come up with? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My shampoo has a different scent than my shower soap, That has a different scent than my PSO (when I use it), That has a different scent than my shave soap, That has a different scent than my aftershave, That has a different scent than my cologne, That has a different scent than my pit stick, That has a different scent than my 'stache stuff. With about three dozen soaps, half a dozen colognes, no way I could afford to match it all. No matter what I use, no matter the combo, my wife always tells me I smell good.
I've got a puck of Col.Conk lime, occasionally comes out of the cabinet. It's a scent I like but never really have found an AS to match. In my antique/thrift store shopping I'm watching for two vintage products; Old Spice & Avon. There is a current production Old Spice lime shipping from India. All the other products I've found while searching are (I assume) good quality, but top dollar.
I've got Trumper Limes Shave Cream. By the time I'm done with the hot/cold rinse and cold towel in my Post, I can't smell any lime. So I usually just splash on some Clubman VIBR. Lime and Bay Rum. Can't get much more tropical than that.
For me it is rare that any scent lasts after the shave. For now I only have i unscented aftershave balms and a Nivea Sensitive Balm that doesn't seem to last through breakfast. I tend to just put on what ever cologne I like by the time I brush my teeth By the way, if you like lime , try Castle Forbes Lime cream . It smells like a barrel full of real limes and makes awesome thick slick lather with very little soap. Makes Conk smell like candy.
For an inexpensive lime pairing there are Club Man Citrus Musk and Lime Sec either of which would work very well.
Personally, I can't get enough lime sec, citrus musk not so much. They're very different. Sec being da bomb, citrus musk da snap'n'pops.
So far here are some winning combos VDH Luxury with Gillette AS Williams with AV Blades Grim Smolder soap with AS (duh) Proraso Red soap with AS (still Duh) CB Irish coffee with TSD Bourbon vanilla Col Conk Bay Rum Lime and Almond VIBR Col Conk Lime and Almond Shea moisture AS (very Citrus scented) Waiting on Razorock XXX pored with Fine Platinum (untested pretty sure it'll be awesome though ) I'm pretty obsessed with good scent pairings obviously. Mine tastes trend hard toward Barber shop products like Clubman, Veg, Osage, AV, etc. My fave soaps all match well to me... Arko, R66 Lumberjack, Electric Sheep, TSD Barber Shoppe, all things Barbasol.
