Because here In Serbia it could find in stores just a couple of different boar brushes, I've decided to buy Omega 80080 boar brush first. It's a this brush http://www.omegabrush.com/product-detail/80080-2/?lang=en On september, when I plan to order razor, and some soaps, I'll buy one of Semogues brushes. poslato sa LG L65
I regretted the money I spent on my two Semogue brushes. I recouped a bit by selling them again. I will not buy a Semogue again. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
They took ages to break in, still kept a lot of lather in the brush after months of use, and the knots felt no better to me than a €5 Omega brush. The only aspect where they were superior, was in the quality of the handles.
I bought Omega 80080 boar brush for 6.5€. I'm gonna use it 'till fall, and then I'll buy some of Semogue's brush. poslato sa LG L65
It's good to try different brands indeed. What I would do in your case, is to buy a lower end Semogue (like a 1250 or 610). If you like it, then you have an excellent "backup" brush. And if you don't, then the pain in your wallet isn't too intense.
Agree on the 1250. It's a marvelous brush, great handle and soft tips right out of the box. It doesn't take long to break in either. The Omega pro 48 for example takes much longer and doesn't feel quite as soft.
I will say, Zenith. After having one for several weeks, I have to say it feels great, and I love the aluminum handle. Just something to think about.
Anyone know of a Omega with a loft of about 50? I bought one off amazon and it has a 62mm loft. A little bit longer than I expected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hello Mr. Swarden, I just purchased a Semogue 820, but after reading your post I might have made a mistake not going with the Onega. If I should chip in for an Omega, which brush do you suggest. I know that Omega makes several.
We cannot decide for you whether you are a Semogue or Omega man. Omega for me as well, though the Semogue handles are very nice.
