SEptember SOTD G3 Injector 300 PBT Ever-Ready brush VdH Luxury Avon Öland Haven't used the VdH Luxury for a while. There are much better soaps out there. But, it's nearly gone, might as well finish it off. I do love the scent though.
Thanks Herm, I agree, it's unique. This one will be a keeper and, for that and many reasons, should be in my (eventual) regular rotation. With focus, I'm getting consistent BBS with each 2-pass shave...and I do not think I'm even utilizing it fully yet. I'm still experimenting with the angle, and as a result I'm noticing less need for touch-ups and repeat strokes each day. Sounds like you too are being wooed by injectors with your success with the G8. I won't let you be the only one to confess to "faceturbating." I'll use the justification that I'm merely providing a service to fellow wet shavers by being able to report the rate of growth during the hours following the shave for scientific reasons.
I'm beginning to feel that way about this Canadian Type E (3 shaves). Today's shave (report later) is causing me a similar realization. I had wanted to shift to my next razor next week, but I may just push it back and stay with this another week because I realize something new (that I really like) with each shave.
There were two Schick Gold Models.....The 1946 Christmas edition 14 Karat G 2 model with a Solid handle & there was the 1947 Christmas edition G 3 model that has a Hollow handle .. The 1946 Christmas edition 14 Karat G 2 model is the Poshest of the two Sir.... Billy
You know me, I am the thirty day guy...I always say take some time with it. It takes more than a few days to find the subtlety. But yeah, I love these little injectors.
This is one good way to judge the sharpness of a given blade. If it lasts, blade is assumed to be quite sharp. Smoothness is another issue....
These two injectors are somewhat rare and can sometimes fetch higher prices Sir...That said, sometimes there is no apparent interest in them and with a bit of luck you can pick them up for a reasonable price.... Billy
There's that "Laser-like Focus" again! I think I've made great strides since my first 30-day Rule. But with each 30-day Focus I'm picking up a little nuance here and there. Sharpness vs Smoothness Since I never went beyond three shaves with a DE blade, I never really measured sharpness as a function of blade life. I've always measured sharpness as just a tug or pull, vs a slice. Smoothness I'm not experienced on, only judging it as the drag of the blade and razor across my face. I'll continue to attempt discerning between the two. Apologies. This probably belongs more in the 30-day thread...but it's interesting that it came up in assessing SEs. Cheers! RT
For clarity, long lasting BBS equals very sharp blade. I wasn't speaking to usable blade life, but rather evaluating a new razor/blade combo. My comment was so brief it was confusing.
takes one to know one! btw - my "scientific research" is conclusively affirmed as necessary by the most recent post by @Bama Samurai on the very subject! We're constantly having to check blade sharpness as above - "long lasting BBS" It truly is a public service, nay - a public safety concern!
