    My second shave of SEptember
    Hot water whisker rinse
Bowl lather the Bay Rum Shaving Soap our new member "Cash" gave me...Man this soap has incredible skin conditioning... @Cash between your Bay Rum soap and my Ever Ready 1914 my skin really does have a Baby's Bottom thing going on...This razor absolutely removes any signs of whiskers and this soap makes my skin so soft...My wife notices everytime I use it...:happy088::happy088:

Today I was wandering if I was going to use my Hydro-magic or my E-2, and I'm thinking.....even the E type is late 30's....Enough with these Modern razors already! So I opened the medicine cabinet and the ER 1914 winked at me...I'm not kidding, a light caught the razor so it shined in such a way, that it looked like it winked at me...Soooo

The Little Lather Catcher was back in action....I've never gotten a better shave as quickly and effortly than I can consistantly with this wildchild....And it's so much fun...It's the loudest razor I own and the handle vibrates in my hand with each whisker cut...I remember the Maiden Voyage with thiss one scared me....lol!!
I had to do a 30 day focus with it to get used to how loud it was....ha,ha...My wife said she was walking by my shave cave and could hear this razor cutting whiskers,(sounds like scrapeing toast with a butter knife), from the hallway...ha,ha...

I think everyone who enjoys shaving should have at least one ER 1914....Seriously, you won't be sorry....

Have a Great Day Everyone and Great Shaves To All...

    L'Occitane Cade SC
    Gem Micromatic
    Stirling Unscented PSB

I had a good irritation free, single pass shave this morning. I did have a couple of weepers, and it does seem the razor will bite I'd not careful, but I am enjoying it so far.

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Star 1912 pat., John Jay Velvet Shaver straight razor
Blade: GEM PTFE Coated SE blade (6)
    Brush: Turkish #6
Soap: WSP - Black Amber Vanille
After: Home made ASB, Nivea after shave balm
Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense

Happy Friday! The Black Amber just exploded from the #6 brush into a wonderful lather. I had enough lather for 10 passes. The Star paired with the GEM blade and the Velvet Shaver did a fantastic job. The Nivea ASB and the Prada were a fine finish for this 2 pass almost BBS shave.

    Have a blessed day!

Day two with my Schick G1 and I'm starting to like it. I am getting very nice two pass shaves with some light touch up. I think this baby will join my rotation with the DE's. Have a great day.!
    Still keeping it simple.

    L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic
    Retinol Men ASB
    Proraso Green AS

While the shave was good, I got tremendous irritation from this cream. There is something I there that I am not compatible with. This is the first soap/cream that I cannot handle, and I have tried over 60 different products. I had just made it the night before and I will let it settle and mature before trying it again.

    Injectors and perhaps a GEM

During this first week, my first with injectors, I’ll look to familiarize myself with them by starting with one that has been described as mild and perhaps move to experiment with others along the aggressiveness spectrum. I’ll be doing SEs all month.

    Hot Shower, Morning Shave
    Soap: Proraso Green
    Brush: Omega Pro 48
    Razor: Schick Eversharp Type I2
    Blade: Schick Injector (China) (2)
    TSD Witch Hazel
    Aftershave Cream: Proraso
    After Shave: Proraso Green

    Schick I2.JPG
After three great shaves with the J3 - "Golden 500” I’ve followed with two shaves with an I2 - another hydro-magic Schick with a reputation for a mild shave, similar to the J3.

After getting indoctrinated to the shorter and rectangular handle of the I2 on the first shave (which was very good), this second shave was ...well, no stubble was left standing and none have appeared in the 5 hours since. Call it what you like, but if this lasts until dinner with Mrs. F. tonight - I’ll call it...

I will be looking to spend a lot more time with these two razors in the future, but I’ll be moving on sometime this 3-day weekend to the next Focus razor - a Schick G1. I’m anxious to continue reading reviews from those of you presently using it and will join you soon.

Have a great Labor Day weekend and many thanks to all those who toil through an honest day of work for an honest day of compensation!

    Cheers!

    Excellent razor and song.
Few may believe this - I saw them live, in that year at Shea Stadium, NY.
I was almost 10. My mother took all of us kids (5 - including my 2 teenage sisters who instigated the trip) and cousins.
    What a hoot!

Great tune! My favorite band. I remember my parents playing Beatles albums on all of our family road trips; the family sing along are some of my best memories from childhood (maybe not the most acoustically pleasing, though).

Took the advice handed out over the last couple of shaves. I think I got the pressure/angle right! Near BBS on two passes, Alum wasn't too bad.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I tried the Injector again this morning, and I was rewarded with a much better shave. I have a tad bit of irritation, but I am very close to BBS. I am definitely going to keep working on this razor.

    Three Pass Shaving Routine....:p

Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil
Gem Junior G Bar Lather Catcher
Gem Stainless (Modified) Se Blade (New)
    Semogue Boar Brush
    Wars Classic Shaving Cream (Poland)
    Organic Aloe Vera Gel
LOGONA Man Aftershave Balm (From Germany)

I achieved a most perfect BBS result with this lovely Wee Gem of a G bar Junior ....I forgot how Mild these are as I have been using Aggressive razors of late, but these wee Lather Catchers are lovely smooth & efficient shavers for sure...I use a full Gem spine as shimming method behind the blade to replicate the intended shaving angle of the original stropping blade.....I use this wee razor almost like a cartridge razor in that you can almost paint your face with it as its so forgiving and difficult to do any wrong.....I always dump a new blade after one shave in the G Bar Junior as I like the blade to be sharp.....;)
    Enjoyed my shave today....:chores016:

    Hello Sir...
I was wondering what your thoughts were on your Black Handled Canadian Type E in terms of aggression compared to other Type Es.....I think that's a later Eversharp Model you have there.....A have an earlier Black handled Canadian Type E with no lugs on the spring and its by far the my most aggressive and smoothest Type E that I have by a long shot....:chores016:
