SoTD, Sunday May 22nd. Gillette New OC (then Schick G-Type) TSD London Type JR#53 Alum block Homemade A/S splash TSD London Type A/S splash Sorry, no pics. Started with the Gillette New. I tried this razor yesterday for the first time. Loaded a GSB and made it through 1.5 passes and decided the siren call from my Schick was too much to keep going with the Gillette. Was getting too much irritation and not enough reduction. Salvaged yesterday's shave with the trusty injector. Normally GSB's are my favorite blade, so I had a day to think about my options. First thought was to put the once used blade in another razor and condem the OC after one go. Maybe it was just a bad blade, and that was not fair treatment? This razor looks like it was someone's daily driver for quite a while, and I figured it must have been a better shave for them to stick with it, right? So I banked the GSB after the 1.5 pass failure and decided to put an Astra SP in this am. The injector was within reach, just in case. Astra SP's are a very smooth blade for me, so figured that may help. Quick loading of the mock 400 JR#53 an the TSD soap nicely face lathered for me with cold water. First few strokes seemed better. This razor seemed to like very short strokes, so I proceeded to inch my way to a first pass. I made it through one pass, and was better than yesterday, but not enough to make me start the second pass. Maybe it's just not the razor for me. I sent down the Gillette, and pulled the schick out of the bull pen. Now we're getting back to goodness. Another pass and some touch up and things are much improved. Nice DFS, albeit some irritation from the OC. Alum had a bit of sting! Finished with my usual two A/S routine. Homemade WH&EO, let dry then laid on the soothing goodness that is TSD London Type A/S... Think I'm done with the Gillette OC. It may languish in the Island for misfit toys for a while before I decide to give it another go. The head is very low, and there seems to be an appreciable amount of blade exposure. The combination of these, when coupled to a fairly light razor doesn't seem to agree with my technique or face. So maybe a few lessons learned. Always nice to visit TSD products. Not every shave is going to be great. Always keep an injector in your ankle holster, just in case. Happy TSD Sunday to everyone!

May 29, 2016 SHAVE DEN SUNDAY Hot Shower Razor: 1912 GEM Damaskeene Blade: GEM PTFE Brush: Rooney 3/3 "Super" Silvertip Just received my summer supply of TSD products: Soap: TSD Yin Yang TSD Witch Hazel AS: TSD Yin Yang Two-day growth, three-pass shave - WTG, XTG, ATG First shave with this razor, was a unique experience. Louder than injectors and not as smooth (at this point in my development), but a dolphin smooth result. The blade angle appears to be narrow so will take me awhile to get consistently dialed in…and I’m guessing it will be well worth the effort. A great shave. The TSD soap just explodes with rich lather and a remarkable cushion. Great stuff! Cheers! RT

SOTD May 29, 2016 Prep: Warm shower Blade: GEM Stainless PTFE Razor: GEM MMOC Brush: Semogue 1520 boar Lather: TSD Lanolin Bay Rum Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with TSD Iced Bay Rum, Nivea sensitive balm WTG One pass shave today, partly for experimental purposes and partly because I was running out of time! I was under a time crunch and needed to shower and shave pretty quickly! Pretty decent shave for one pass. It would have been nice to clean up around the neck and jaw area some more, but that's okay. The MMOC is an interesting razor and I need some more time with it to realize its potential. The TSD products behaved beautifully as always. I hope you all had a great weekend!

Razor: AlumiGoose w/Bluebeards Revenge Handle Blade: Feather Professional (3) Brush: Omega 10066 Boar Soap: TSD 2x Iced Oak Moss Sandalwood A/S: Folsom & Co. Capri I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to post after my shave today as a result of the amount of rain we where supposed to get. Fortunately they where wrong. I change from the stock AlumiGoose handle (34.0 grams) to the Bluebeards Revenge Handle (45.8 grams) which made a big difference in the performance of the razor. Had a very close comfortable shave with the heavier handle. Finished with Folsom & Co. Capri. Outstanding finish. Not a very good picture this morning.
Thank you, Doug! Thanks for setting up this thread! It is great to show off some of the wonderful TSD Shop products.
