The Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #40 Ubersoft 2 synthetic brush. I just had to try out my new Gillette Blue Tip razor, so I made a change in the planned line up. Two passes with my Gillette Blue Tip razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. It was a very nice, no irritation shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Mike it might be simple but it sure looks :signs021:. The handle looks grippy. Beautiful brush. :)

20160216_093655.jpg sorry guys, I've been a bit under the weather of late. also I've been sort of obsessing over the edge on the friodur razor that came in last week. I think my arm is bare testing this joker.
everything else does ok.but this blade that I wanted so much to be the bees knees just won't cooperate.
so I'm going to post a pic. the scoop is, the fatboy had to rescue the shave. back to the hones for the friodur.
hope y'all did , well just better

and I forgot to hit post

Razor- Gillette Slim Adjustable in case
Brush - Custom handle with 24mm/55mm Sunrise synthetic knot
    Cream - Palmolive Palm extract
Post - Thayers WH & unrefined shea butter

Really liking this brush. Great backbone spring and fun to use. Leaning towards larger knots with shorter lofts. Longer lofts are great for face painting and massaging but when you just want to get the job done this has become one of my go to brushes.

I think I'm done with the Super Lather Quest. Cremo and Tallow Special Edition from Strop Shoppe didn't seem particularly super or special. The soap performs well by it's self, as does the cream. The sum of the two parts didn't impress. Been a while since I used the '46-'49 three piece. Fifth use of an Astra gives great audible and the last shave on this blade. While it's not a bad blade I think I prefer Feather or Voskhod. During the last week I've been using a generic alum block after a cool water rinse. I'm enjoying the tightening effect. A generous handful of Pinaud's finest for a great Tuesday evenings shave.

Interesting bowl. Is that textured? The rivets and sheet metal joints give great steampunk vibe. Symmetrical Pottery does some interesting gear but that one isn't listed right now.

Yes the rivets and joints give it texture and there is even some slight lines in the bowl to give it a worn look. It was my first Bowl from them and now have 3 in my den with this one being my favorite due to the finish. You can contact them and they will be happy to make one up. That is what they did for me.

Had a great shave this morning, the Weishi ,Lord combo did a good job although I think the blade was a little dull after 5 days the last pass wasn't quite as smooth.
The Weleda Cream always provides a nice lather , The alum block was quiet topped off with the Bay Rum A/S I got an almost BBS close but not quite.:happy088:

Good morning everyone. Today was my first shave with the new Evahs CC razor. I went into this very sceptical because as beautiful as this razor is I wasn't happy with the top cap being so thin and light. First impression: This is why we take chances people! The angle finds itself immediately, the shave is silky smooth and mildly aggressive. The handle length lends itself perfectly for atg under the nose cleanups. Beautifully smooth BBS with three passes and a touchup under my right jawline. No irritation at all. If anyone is thinking about purchasing this razor, please do so, it just made my rotation. The finish on it is very shiny! Have a great shave and a great day my friends. :happy005:

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Personna lab blue (2)
    Razor: Maggard MR1 open comb
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
Lather: Ginger's Garden Salty Mariner shave soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Nice, efficient, smooth, and enjoyable CCS this morning. The Ginger's Garden soap works really, really well. It lathers in a heartbeat and produces a beautiful coating. I've been more and more pleased with the Satin Tip brush. You can really bear down with it and watch it make plentiful lather.

One pass with touch-up is my normal on a weekday morning. This is one of the best weekday shaves I've ever had since using DE razors. Good products and improving technique are all working together!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!
