Menthol Monday: Day 25 of my second round of blade testing
Prep: Hot shower, Nivea face wash
    Brush: @Jayaruh #33 horse hair
    Lather: Stirling Glacial Obsidian soap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma Alum, Thayer's Witch Hazel pad, Aqua Velva Ice Blue Sport AS splash

With a couple of days' worth of stubble, a soap I have some trouble lathering consistently, a blade I'm on the fence about, and a brush I'm still trying to dial in, I set myself up for a rough Monday shave. A bit more time on the puck - almost puck-lathering - got me very good lather the first time through, during which the blade felt very sharp but not distressingly so. For whatever reason, the lather did not retain enough moisture on the second pass, so I had to fiddle with it some more, not quite regaining the same good consistency of the initial pass and irritating a spot under my chin. The 3rd pass was slightly more problematic, still, resulting in a tiny spot of blood where there had previously been irritation. All in all, DFS results that were DFS+ on the face but less than that under the chin and on the neck. We'll see what the next two shaves bring, but the GSB may just not be for me.

    SHAVE OF the day
    20160222_181724.jpg

Prep: shower with RazoRock son of Zeus soap
    Razor: Gillette Tech
    Blade: Big Ben (3rd shave)
    Brush: RazoRock plissoft
    Soap: I Coloniali
    Post: Catties Bubbles LPV aftershave

2 pass shave today. The I Cononali is not a soap that makes a santa beard lather, but the sticky constancy is slick and it is a great product, it is labeled as a cream, but is more of a croap. Slight menthol and a nice spicy scent paired well with the LPV aftershave. BBS finish but had a nick or two. Hope everyone had a great shave!

    Folsom & Company Shambala AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Although this setup is not nearly as intensely-frigid as a Menthol Monday one it's still quite cold - definitely cold enough to satisfy my menthol cravings. The Sottozero soap smells so minty and nice, with fabulous lather and a decent menthol presence which the Gold Bond moisturizer beefs up. The Shambala is one of the most beautifully-scented aftershaves I've ever used and it delivers an excellent cooling sensation. I don't think I need to wear an eau de toilette because this stuff has great staying power! ;) :D

    2/22/16 - VC01 and Lebelle Soap

    A great shave using:

    Lebelle Soaps Fig Tree
    Semogue Italian Barber LE
    Valet AutoStrop VC01
    Feather SE Blade
    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

This razor is amazing. It's not a matter of being aggressive. It's more like a Straight Razor, it's all angle. You mainly have a blade and a stick.
    Wonderfully close 3 Pass Shave.

This soap is Fig Tree, and like the name says, it smells like a fig in a tree. A nice subtle scent. The performance is like all the Lebelle soaps, exceptionally well. Tallow based, so it slick, but has lots of cushion.

    TESC Pre-Shave Oil
    Proraso Green Shaving Soap
    Semogue Owners Club
    Gillette Blue Tip
    Astra SP
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Semogue Owners Club boar brush. Two passes with my new Gillette Blue Tip razor and a Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Cap those razors sure look cool, I like the gears there on the side. They look like some industrial, steam punk, chrome gizmos in a very :signs021: way. :)
