    Speick Saturday:

Prep: Hot compress, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Cream: Speick
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG (4)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS splash

After yesterday's attempt to shave off all the dermis from cheekbones to Adam's Apple, I opted for a simple, 1-pass, SAS this morning, both to work on the technique and touch the FaTip demands and to enjoy the Speick cream. As expected, it lathered like a dream. With just the one pass, I avoided doing any obvious further damage, and the Speick splash feels wonderfully healing on my skin.

Another fine shave today with the VDH Luxury Shave Soap. The Semogue 1305 boar brush face lathered for two passes and touch ups with the Merkur 37c slant razor and Bluebird Hi-Stainless Platinum blade. It was a near BBS shave. A cold water rinse followed by Thayers wH and Pinaud Clubman AS left me clean, smooth, and refreshed.

This was a fantastic shave which left me almost as smooth as my lovely wife and daughter - my Super Speed never fails me. It's so easy for me to use that it's like second nature for me. That Gada Cool Mint cream might be dirt-cheap, but it performs much better than a lot of expensive creams or soaps - a great scent, rich lather, ICY-COLD menthol and wonderful post-shave care. I lost my taste for the Axe Chilled gel but I have to use it up, and once it's finished I won't buy it again. The Rubby Dubby Doo delivered such an awesome freeze which I love so much! ;) :D

You've probably noticed I've been on a Williams binge lately, good shaves with the stuff. Used a new 30mm brush this morning, I'll be lowering the loft four or five mm before I use it again. Nice shave, have a good one.

    Brush: TGN's 30mm Super Silvertip & H2 Handle

Pre Shave Soap: Nivea Energy Face Scrub
Pre Shave Oil: Homemade Lime & Spearmint
Shave Soap: PC DdC Dragon Blood w Lea Sensitive
    Aftershave: Nivea Sensitive ASB
Prairie Creations Dragon Blood in heavy scent irritates my skin so I decided this morning to combine it with Lea Sensitive cream soap and a pea size dollop did the trick. No irritation and another DFS using DdC along with Futur and Chinese Wilkinson but believe five shaves is the limit with this blade.

    Saturday:
Prep - Hot shower and some sort of bath gel, homemade PSO
    Brush - Omega boar
    Soap - VDH glycerin
    Blade - Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (1)
    Razor - Merkur 34C HD
AS - Lime Triple Sec (sample) and I'm not a big fan! and styptic pencil darnit

Pushed on with another head and face shave. Head was a 2 pass - WTG and XTG. Found a mole that I had forgotten about with the XTG! Face shave was awesome 3 pass and lower neck and jawline are almost smooth. I'm either figuring it out or my skin is getting used to this . I must say that the head shave has really helped me with the right angle as over 85% is blind and simply by sound and feel. Translating that to the face, the angle is easier to keep right.

    Weekend Straight Razor Shave

Pre: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub; homemade Citrus PSO
    Razor: M. E. Reppenhagen
    Strop: Whipped Dog 3"
Brush: Omega 626 Silvertip Pure Badger
    Lather: Tabac Soap, scuttle-warmed
Shave: Two passes, plus a little DE touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, alum block, Black River bay rum AS

Chilly morning (for sunny NorCal, 33°F), so use of the scuttle seemed appropriate. A decent SR shave—and I'm beginning to really notice the difference between the straight razors I use. I suppose, as with DE shaving, the variance becomes apparent the more you familiarize yourself with each razor. With SRs, I can feel the difference in the overall sharpness between the razors which manifests itself by resistance and tugging during the shave. Overall, my face feels great and refreshed post-shave, but I may need to spend some more time getting all my SR edges up to par.
    Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone!

    Prep: hot towel
Razor: G. Wostenholm & Son CANUCK
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Proraso white tub
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: cold water, Proraso blue

It's the weekend, so I put the DE away and brought out the straight for two passes, face and neck. I've had better shaves, but this is my 7th shave (2nd for the neck area) with a straight so I'm OK with the results.
Still working on lathering up with the Vie-Long. I did get a nice lather from the Proraso, just not a lot of it.

    Nice, easy DFS
Today's shave was another good one, although I've developed some irritation on my lower neck. I'm not sure if it's from today, or yesterday when I skipped my pre-shave face wash. Easy lather again, and I was able to detect some cedar in the soap scent today. Perhaps I'm getting over my cold. I loved the Krampert's, as usual. My wife loves the Givenchy.

Prep: warm wash with Shea Moisture Three Butters Scrub
    Soap: HTGAM Gondolier
    Brush: HIS Synthetic
